Patents are the foundation of our business, securing the distinctiveness of our products and preserving their exclusive availability through Mercene or authorized distributors. We have already successfully defended our patents against both large and small players.
Global patents and trademark portfolio
Every direct purchase from Mercene includes a license, and coating systems from approved distributors bear our name and patent references on the container and must include a separate license agreement between the end-user and Mercene. For patent, licensing, distributors, or technology inquiries, contact us directly. With over 40 granted patents and numerous pending applications, we collaborate closely with top-tier European patent firms to draft, defend, and assert our rights – which we have already done successfully on numerous cases.

Featured patent
The use of acrylate-based, UV-cured thin primers (typically 1–3 g/sqm) for creating adhesion on melamine surfaces is patented across the EU, Turkey, UK, US, Canada, China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, and beyond. A license from Mercene is strictly required for the use of this technology, including selling the panels/products produced using it.
If you encounter any coatings manufacturer offering a similar primer without directing you to Mercene for licensing, report this immediately. Unlicensed use, sale, or supply of materials for our patented process is illegal in all jurisdictions where our patents are granted, and will be met with decisive legal action.
We similarly enforce our patents and pending applications covering UV-activated surface activators and lamination adhesives for PP, PET, PMMA, PC, and related composites.
Covered by granted patent families based on EP3655247 and EP3935104 in EPO (Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark , Belgium, Austria, UK, Turkey), and in US, Canada, China, Brasil, Malaysia, Vietnam as well as other pending validation.
